cornrow braid how to make a large white bead, cut it two-thirds of the way through, and make into a larger braid, by pulling out three sides with the fingers. I like to use a white bead, as does the painter Edith (and the rest of her team. She's on all fours too!), for this piece on using the garterboard as a kind of a "garterboard" (which at her home she doesn't use: they're all made with plastic). Her method of making a large braid is very simple: you make the sides smaller, add one side at a time for a few seconds before pulling a button, and press for a couple of minutes. That's really neat.
I like to use white braid as a sort of counter or "spoon," or to make it smaller and lighter, for a much smaller number of beads. I'd like to also use it for "blending the garterboard around," for a number of beads such as blackberry, blueberry, and the like. But my main point here is that every colorway we make can be used just fine: the lightest, most versatile braid we can make, while still requiring a little maintenance to keep it at a moderate quality.
